PREPARATION FOR CERTIFICATION
DESCRIPTION:
 

The Certified Quality Technician is a paraprofessional who, under the support and direction of engineers or quality supervisors, analyzes and resolves quality problems, prepares inspection plans and instructions, selects and applies sampling plans, prepares procedures, trains inspectors. , performs audits, analyzes quality costs and other data, and applies basic statistical methods for process control.

The PXS Certified Quality Technician training program aims to provide quality technician preparation and prepare individuals interested in taking the American Society for Quality CQT exam.

EXAM:
 

Each candidate is required to pass a written exam consisting of multiple-choice questions that measures understanding of the Body of Knowledge (BoK). The 100-question, 4-hour exam is offered twice a year. Registration for the exam is done at the expense of each participant directly with ASQ. The dates, instructions and exam guidelines will be given in the first classes. The exam can be taken in English or Spanish. Class material may be in English.

REQUIREMENTS:
 

Candidates must have worked in a full-time, paid role. Paid work as an intern, co-op, or any other course cannot be applied toward the work experience requirement. Candidates must have at least four years of higher education and/or work experience in one or more of the areas of the CQT body of knowledge.

Candidates who were previously certified by ASQ as a quality engineer, quality auditor, reliability engineer, software quality engineer, or quality manager, the experience used to qualify for certification in those fields applies to certification as a quality.
